Metro-Detroit Worship Gatherings: Worship gatherings which start with a time of fellowship at a
coffee/pastry bar, followed immediately with a worship service designed
to connect with a post-modern generation. This gathering is meant to
challenge young adults to be passionate followers of Christ and to
inspire them to go back into their churches (and world) to make a
difference for the Kingdom of God. While our ministry
meets at a church, the atmosphere is neutral and does not promote any
specific organization.
Encouraging
Leaders: This ministry is designed to inspire and encourage leaders. We want to
always be a reminder to those people who sacrifice so much for this age
group that they are not alone as a young adult leader. We would like to
encourage and equip the young adult leaders (paid or volunteer) who
work with the young adults any way that we can. Our main avenue for
this is a bi-monthly leader lunch where we share ideas and pray
for one another.
Mission Trips: One of the best ways to truly understand what it means to live out the Great commission is
through mission trips and compassion projects. This generation is more globally minded than generations past and tends to have a deep
burden for the oppressed, poor, and sick. As partnering churches desire, we help facilitate local compassion projects and global missions trips. These projects give young adults an opportunity to connect with other Christians
and more importantly, see how God can use their gifts, abilities, and passions to further the Kingdom not only in
some distant land but in our own Judea and Samaria.
Prayer
Movement: Prayer changes things. Our hard work and talent
aren’t going to change a single life. It will be God
responding to the prayers of His people. Our plan is to create a prayer
community where young adults are being prayed for and have a forum to
let their requests, hurts and praises be known. We want to use a
dynamic website to facilitate an online prayer community accessible
from anywhere in the world. As Elevate develops, we could also partner
with a group like 24/7 Prayer and put on regular week long prayer
events where people would be encouraged to come and stake out every
hour of every day lifting up these requests |
